The Blue Flag USA program is responsible for providing support and engagement to coastal communities on various topics to support the ideal of sustainable development through environmental education. Previously, staff held a national workshop at the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association’s 2021 National Coastal Conference. Last year Blue Flag USA launched a popular summer series on beach management topics in support of candidates and ASBPA’s mission to advocate for healthy, sustainable, and resilient coastal systems. We are joined this year by the national operator for Blue Flag in Canada, Swim Drink Fish in programming. This year the three month series will cover Accessibility, Water Quality, and Safety in an effort to bring together candidate sites, awarded sites, industry, managers, stakeholders, and more to share experiences. Below you will find information about the summer series as it becomes available.
